Are you 21 and older? Want to connect with others interested in the UN?  As active members, the United Nations Association Young Professionals of Portland are committed to thinking globally and acting locally. We will promote human rights, support schools in refugee camps, celebrate cultural diversity, and participate in professional development opportunities.  Our events are open to all, employed or not, including non-members.

We’re so excited to have recently launched the Portland chapter!  Please contact me at nnennaya@unapdx.org with your questions.

UNA YP RAISES $1600 FOR REFUGEES

The United Nations Association Young Professionals (UNA YP) chapter in Portland helped raise $1,600 in support of Adopt A Future, a campaign to provide education and classrooms at the Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya.  This is the largest refugee camp in the world. We were matched with the Hilal School, which is a primary school with over 1,200 boys and 900 girls.  Proceeds will help provide school uniforms, books, and the classroom itself.

This event was sponsored by Sisters Coffee, Hunt & Gather. BRIX Traven, Elements Massage, The Fields Bar and Grill, World Affairs Council of Oregon, and Lagunitas Brewing.
